The picture above is Ciudad de Mexico, capital of Mexico, and our home for the next two years.
We’re Steve and Lisa, and the primary purpose of this blog is to keep some continuity with the friends we leave behind us in various places. Lisa’s an officer in the US Department of State, and we move from one assignment to the next every 2-3 years. We spent two wonderful years in Manila, in the Philippines, and are delighted to know the warmth and kindness of the Filipino People. If you see an Asian-looking guy or girl walking around wearing something that says “Proud to be Pinoy” tell ‘em they have EVERY right to be!
Our new home will be Mexico City, from June 2011 til summer of 2013. I’m excited to learn another new country, and culture, and people.
You’ll find the blog really targeted at family and friends. Everyone’s welcome, but while my initial intention was to create a scintillating and captivating collection of thoughts, anecdotes, pictures, and deep philosophical musings inspired by our wealth of new experiences, somewhere along the way my wife bore me my first child… and so, in true Doting Daddy fashion, it’s become kind of the “Ginny Update.” But she’s pretty dang entertaining, so stick around and read awhile!!
